More about the 1935 20/25 Rolls Royce Landaulette built by Thrupp and Maberly
The car was fitted with extra strong springs because of the appalling
Indian roads for H.H. The Maharaja of Boroda in August 1935 and
shipped out to India via "The SS India". It did not however
stay there for seven years as stated in Technicar March 1972 as
soon after the Maharaja died and the car came back to England. It
was then purchased by a J W Deuchar (a dealer) to be sold on to
Mrs M B Wells-Cole in Lincoln who kept the car for 30 years.
It then went to South Africa sold to a Mr C D Sykes of Hout Bay,
Cape, who bought her in 1968. The car then found its way to America
and eventually came back to the UK by a Mr George Hassan.
In 1995 the car had done 127,000 miles. The car was purchased by
Legendary Limousines at auction at the Alexandra Palace London.
Used now for weddings it has absolute winner with every bride wanting
to be seen in it. The car still has the original West of England
cloth interior and still has the original tools.
